“Never stop Learning”: the Lean Production culture ready to shape ART team’s mindset

“Never stop Learning”! This is the motto that drives innovation and continuous training at ART.

Designing and producing for innovation is a full-time job and it has to be done with passion: it is precisely in order to keep this approach alive that the Lean Production training course started last month, involving 14 ART employees from multiple departments: production, purchasing, planning, quality, process engineering and logistics.  The course is developed transversally, involving various levels of the organization.

According to ART’s philosophy, the process of improvement is an aspect that must be nurtured and carried forward, a pillar of the corporate culture that defines its approach. Knowing, intermingling with other realities and then trying to bring the best practices to bear within the company context is fundamental in order to have the right insights for growth. Paolo Sebastiani, Senior process expert, worked on the Lean Production course and talked about his experience in a short interview:

“I joined ART in 2018. I found a company that has been able to stimulate me over the years with new challenges and objectives. Today, thanks to the wealth of knowledge I have acquired during my professional career, I am at ART with a position as a Mentor.

In my new capacity, I am trying to contribute to creating culture in the company. A recent example: I was given the opportunity to carry out an initial project designed for ART aimed at creating new knowledge and awareness. In practice, we started a workshop aimed at bringing the culture of Lean production to ART. The project included both a training phase and a practical phase in which professionals from different teams participated, with the aim of fostering cross-pollination of ART’s corporate culture with new working methods.

Lean Production is a crucial strategy when it comes to production; it is an approach that aims to make workflows more efficient and eliminate waste. Participating in this type of training has allowed us to look further, exploring and sharing some production best practices that in our world represent key experiences in order to evolve and innovate. A useful first step in analysing the present and future state from another point of view and defining new KPIs on which to measure process efficiency.

And precisely with the aim of tackling/accompanying growth in a more organic way and helping to manage complexity, ART has been collaborating with a team from Chiarini & Associati, a consulting and training company specializing in services such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Industry 4.0, Product Design, a benchmark in the automotive world.”
