INTECS-ART Agreement: New Hub of Excellence for Automotive Embedded Systems Launched

INTECS-ART Agreement: New Hub of Excellence for Automotive Embedded Systems Launched

The centre will be based in Pisa at Intecs’ historical headquarters and will become a reference point and a hub of expertise for the creation of high-tech products in the sector

Rome, 4 July 2024 – Intecs, a leading company in multi-business engineering systems, and ART, one of Italy’s leading companies in the field of embedded systems and infotainment for high-end vehicles, today launched a new project: a competence centre for the development and production of products of excellence for the automotive industry with the aim of improving and strengthening the technological capabilities of the two companies in the sector.

The new hub will be based in Pisa, at the historical headquarters of Intecs, in a strategic position that will allow the precious academic relationships of the university environment, the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and the CNR to be combined in synergy with Intecs and ART. The two companies will contribute to creating a true hub of technological excellence for the automotive sector and be ready to respond and transfer the experience gained by ART in the supply of connected infotainment systems and digital cockpits for luxury sports cars to other sectors such as agritech, aeronautics and railways.

Intecs and ART, which have a long history of collaboration together, are setting up a strategic partnership that will enable mutual working models to be consolidated with the aim of reaching new levels of know-how: a necessary step in the face of an increasingly competitive and constantly changing market.

Speaking about the project, the mayor of Pisa, Michele Conti, said: “I am very happy with the establishment of this new pole, which once again confirms the appeal of our territory for new centres of excellence in the field of technological and scientific innovation, in this case in the automotive sector. With the presence of the University, the CNR and two schools of excellence, the Scuola Normale Superiore and the Scuola Sant’Anna, Pisa is indeed the ideal city to foster technology transfer and bring together research, enterprise and institutions. As an administration, we will continue to work to offer the world of research and innovation the ideal conditions in which to operate, and to increasingly confirm, in line with its history, Pisa’s centrality as a city of science and knowledge”.

We are very pleased to have signed this agreement, which represents a confirmation and an acknowledgement of the quality of our expertise in real-time and safety-critical embedded systems,” said Giuseppe Ciongoli of Intecs. “The project fits perfectly into the Intecs Industrial Plan for the three-year period 2024-2026, which aims to make the company a point of reference in the landscape of Italian engineering companies, through the provision of turnkey solutions. We are confident that the collaboration will lead to great success for both companies”.

Franceso Ortix, CEO of ART, also joined in the satisfaction expressed for the agreement signed: “ART is a company that looks to the future: in this sense, the partnership with Intecs represents a clear sign of investment in skills and technology, a choice that goes beyond the production logic that still guides ART’s work, giving a boost to all those high-tech skills that are necessary to be competitive in today’s market. I am confident that this collaboration represents a win-win agreement for two companies that have expertise and foresight behind them and are united by the need to innovate”.
